STREET STYLE x FASHION WEEK

A taste of fashion week! I love the part he (Craig Arend, from nymag.com) says "...and forget it in Paris. It is ten times more intense." I wish I could be there right now.

WHO SAID FLOWERS ONLY BLOOM IN SPRING?

Simone Marchetti has put together the most surprisingly unisex outfit. Wow. Am I alone in my awe?

PRADA

Je devais absolument dédier un billet au défilé spring/summer 2011 de Prada. Regardez-moi ce satin lustré et ces imprimés destinés à devenir fétiches.

THE LAST SUMMER DAYS

We were grazed with perfect transitional weather here in Montreal over the weekend, seeing this is the case ever so seldomly, my man and I decided to spend the last summer days wisely...Sunday, we frolicked to the pulse of the tamtams and took our day from there.
we encountered lovers in the form of bicycles, which my man pointed out to me with a nonchalant "that's us".

NOOK

I want a cosy little nook, a warm and sunlit corner where I can retreat to read a good book or just to have a little time to think, to self-manage and to engage in introspection. I've been really craving silence and serenity lately and I wish I had a space like that in my life...

IN OUR DREAMS WE WERE MAKING IT RIGHT

I got these trousers some time ago, but only got around to getting them tailored this week. I loved the dusky pink shade and thought they would look much better with a cropped and slightly taken in leg. What do you think? I really love them for their potential to serve both as work wear and as a casual day off bottom. My only concern is how I could style them in the winter months...

SUMMER NIGHTS

My favourite thing about the summer is definitely its longer days, when it only starts to get dark around 8:30pm. There's nothing like dining to a bright sky and after that taking a walk with your lover while the sun sets before you.

BABY IN A HAMMOCK

My boyfriend's little niece, Tiala, sleeping in our hammock after a morning of play.

WHERE DO YOU HED TO...?

I've always been the kind of gal who didn't care much about her hair, mostly because I inherited a full and healthy (read: asian) head of hair. I always went about with the philosophy that nothing could genuinely damage my hair and that any damage would grow out. It's just hair, after all. However, in the past year, I have pushed the envelope a little far, that with 2 consecutive perms and more recently a sudden perpetual desire to iron straight my already permed locks, with no heat-protector prior. Before I could induce any more damage to my capillary abomination, the hairgods sent Luc my way. He is the owner of Hed Salon, which sits bright, lofty and chic on the St-Laurent strip.

I have to say, the visit definitely gave me a new perspective. I now understand why women are willing to splurge and why they dwell such loyal and close relationships with their hairdressers. The staff at Hed consist of the nicest talents and they definitely know how to take you way away from your daily life of running amok.
They also have a make-up artist, who is present to offer touch-ups for clients after they get their hair done. She introduced me to a line called Jane Iredale, which is a mineral and completely non-toxic skincare and makeup line with some ah-mazing stuff! (more on that later). Oh and did I mention how adorable she is?

The lovely Anne-Renée, pleased with my face (or rather, her makeup application)
So I walked out (into the drizzle), with a sexy new do' (Yes, I do toot my own horn from time to time) and a real-life hair guru. The salon also carries an array of Bumble and bumble products. So please head to Hed, and if you do, don't forget to say hi to Luc!

HAIRCUT

I'm over the moon about my new haircut. I recently met one of my friend's new boyfriend, who coincidentally is also one of the best hairdressers in Montreal. He owns a lofty and chic salon on the St-Laurent strip. More on the salon later. So I headed to Hed (pun intented) and he chopped my locks! Goodbye permed-out, lifeless fuzzcloth and Hello! shiny, healthy mane! I was then trapped in a light drizzle which started its round right about when I finished my haircut. And surprise! my hair still looks amazing. Ah...:) Naturally I was a li-ttle too lazy to bring out the tripod so I introduce you brand new cut via our old friend le photobooth! (à la StephanieAnd girl, your action definitely pushed me out of my inaction!)
