Sometimes, there is nothing sexier than a simple loose blouse, unbuttoned just enough to be a little bit daring and buttoned just enough to remain tasteful.

I love how a change of material; cotton as opposed to silk or satin, changes the mood of the outfit completely, but without losing it's sex appeal.
This is one of the rare unisex fashion insights. If done correctly, (think George Cortina, not trashy euro beats), it can be incredibly chic! As most of my you know by now, when it comes to fashion, a rule I (most of the time) live by is:
I've always been crazy about the bags from Hermès. But after seeing this photo, of Garance's vintage Kelly, I absolutely need one. Their quality and craftsmanship are without equal. I love when things become more beautiful with wear, and I think it's an easy indicator of a good investment piece. Next time you think about swiping that credit card for a new handbag, maybe put the money aside for your Kelly fund?
These Alaia lace up sandals are still breaking grounds, and hearts. And it's been 3 years already. Can you blame them? After being seen donned repeatedly by Carine Roitfeld, these are not to be soon lost in sight.
Today, my cognitive bias has brought this following logical fallacy of an outfit to life. I really wouldn't mind, is all.
Étoile Isabel Marant Clark coat, warm and buttery leather gloves (these are DVF), Carven Gargoyle knit sweater, Christian Louboutin Vicky Jane, Alex and Chloe heart studs, a wool, bucket waisted skirt (preferably with pockets), with semi-sheer black tights.
So, it snowed today, again. I swear, I'm not delusional, maybe a little over dramatic...BUT, two consecutive days of snow can bear no good news. I mean, when's the next time I can sport an outfit perfection such as the one donned by la Giovanna below?
The only thing that could mayyybe lift my sullen spirits is this Comme des Garçons sweater below. Hehe. And sorry about the nameless post resulting from a lack of inspiration - blame the fact that I've been wearing the same outerwear for a week straight.
I took these at the end of September, and the temperature wise it seems like it was an eternity ago...Today, as a friend and I left the semi-annual L'Oreal warehouse sale, itsy bitsy snowflakes landed on the windshield. Albeit they melted on contact, they're still foreshadows of the long and soul-drenching Canadian winter. And with it's illusive manifestation today, it's officially marked to start, very, soon. Blaaaaarrrhghghg.
I'm contemplating these gorgeous asymmetrical-toed pumps. I have teeny feet and cannot find pumps that will fit them without falling off.. These Corneille, from Christian Louboutin seem like one of the few options I have. What do you think?
Voici, finally, some snapshots from Carine Roitfeld's latest venture, Irreverent. It's actually like taking sneakpeaks into her life, her work and her reign over french Vogue. It is exactly how you expect it to be, like a limited edition of Vogue Paris best-ofs, only blown up tenfold and under the influence of some illicit substance. Raw, controversial, and definitely irreverent.. et surtout, très Carine. A must-have coffee table fixture. Get yours here.
Here are some of my beauty essentials as of late: Encre Noire, par Lalique. This has got to be my favourite perfume, ever. The smell is sultry, feminine and classic luxurious. I also alternate from time to time with Stella. Mata Hari and Lovejoy, from Nars. I alternate between these two blushes according to season, but it seems I'm having a really hard time departing from my summer rosy cheeks (Mata Hari)... Checks and Balances, from Origins. Best. Facewash. Gentle, with a soft pleasant smell. Eau Thermale, de Avène. Spray this on after your makeup to seal it, making it look natural (especially powder foundation!) and it feels really fresh! Démaquillant Bi-phase yeux intense, de Chanel. Grrreat remover, even for the most stubborn waterproof mascaras. Émulsion visage Essentielle, de Vichy. I've been using this for a year, plus ou moins, and I like it. But I wouldn't mind trying something new.. For mascara, I honestly use any waterproof mascara in the blackest shade. Right now I'm on a tube of Maybelline Great Lash. (Which is not a great for me) For lipstick, I've been alternating mainly between these 3 tubes. Pastèque (which means water melon!) de Lise Watier, Gabrielle de Chanel et Modesty from Mac.
Remember the metal plated numbers at Acne, ss2010? Columbine's renewal of the trend is making me ponder on diy possibilities. Although I could never pull off the jeans she's wearing (cause the metal part is probably the length of my legs), I really like the plated back pockets on the second image. But, I mean, do you think it's comfortable to sit on? ...Cause I like to sit.
Look what came in the mail hier; my latest bauble. A thin gold leaf! J'adorrrre. ps. I set up mobile blogger this morning, and tried posting, but failed. Anyone else have the same problem? I'm so bummed. I really want to be able to blog whenever it tickles my fancy.
Today I went to the doctor's for the annual check up. So, after the drill, I went shoe shopping! These patent ones were to die for!, but unfortunately too big for me, although they are the smallest size (US5). Story of my life. I did, however, come home with something. I'll show you later!
Yesterday was our couple's 2nd anniversary. My man has been acting all secretive for the past few weeks, and he honestly blew me away with a day filled with surprises. It really got me thinking on the importance of reminding your loved one just how special they are to you. Especially with routine inevitably settling in around your daily life. So next time the occasion arises, or you have a little minute of thought to yourself, break out of the quotidian and add a little jazz, and get ready to fall in love all over again.
